Waldkiefer, Föhre

Die einheimische Waldkiefer entwickelt sich zu einem mächtigen Baum mit 20-40 Meter Höhe. Der Stamm ist oft gerade und schlank, aber auch knorrig und gedreht, das Blatt ist zweinadelig, 4-7 cm lang und blaugrün. Der Wuchs ist in der Jugend schlank aufrecht und nach oben strebend - im Alter bildet sich die typische schirmförmige Krone aus. Die Waldkiefer bietet  sich besonders auch für die Anpflanzung im Küstenbereich an.

Sie eignet sich für Einzelstellung, Gruppenpflanzung und als Schutzgehölz. Darüber hinaus wir sie sehr stark forstwirtschaftlich genutzt. Sie bevorzugt trockene Lagen, ihre Winterhärte ist enorm.
