Ryssros

Rosa jundzillii verdankt ihren Namen Professor Jundzii aus Wilna. Das Laub ist wechselseitig gefiedert, die Blätter sind mattgrün und durch, an der Unterseite befindliche Drüsenborsten, matt und rau. Im Juni/Juli erscheinen ihre duftenden rosa Blüten, aus denen sich im Herbst die kräftig roten, ovalen Hagebutten bilden. Ihre mit gebogenen Stacheln besetzten Triebe sind häufig leicht bereift.

Das Verbreitungsgebiet der Rose erstreckt sich über das gesamte Gebiet Mittel- und Südeuropas. Für die Insekten- und Vogelwelt ist sie mit ihrem reichen  Nahrungsangebot das ganze Jahr über attraktiv. An den Boden stellt Rose jundillii keine besonderen Ansprüche, sie kommt gut mit kargen Standorten zurecht. Dieser sommergrüne dichtverzweigte  Strauch erreicht eine Höhe von 150 bis 200 cm.
